The government has requested the construction of 500,000 new homes to help the housing shortage. A developer has developed a brief for a new city of 200,000 people in the Vale of York, to the South West of York. The areas rich cultural heritage and natural beauty will have a lot of input into the design, more perhaps than the developer might originally have anticipated.
